Meet the Tacoma Team Behind Servo Garage Doors Tacoma
We’re the crew that shows up when your torsion spring snaps at 6 a.m. or your opener’s logic board dies before a holiday weekend. Every technician here works under The Haven Standard, which means we quote flat, written prices before touching a tool and document every visit with photos you’ll actually receive. Marcus Deller built this team on one rule: the customer sees the failed part before anyone quotes a replacement. That hasn’t changed since 2015.
Our People
Marcus Deller, Owner & Lead Technician
I’ve been fixing garage doors in Tacoma since 2015, and I still carry a winding bar on every call because I don’t trust anyone else’s calibration. Started this shop after watching a homeowner in North End get quoted $800 for a $220 spring job by a guy who wouldn’t even show her the broken coil. That won’t happen on my watch. I hold the state contractor license personally, and my cell number goes to every customer when I’m on their job. Off hours, I’m usually restoring a 1972 Chevy C10 that has spent more time on jack stands than the road. Dry observation: the truck’s torsion issues make garage door springs look simple.
Derek V., Senior Installer
Derek joined us in 2019 after eight years installing commercial dock doors at the Port of Tacoma, which is where he learned to level a 16-foot Clopay in a crosswind without complaining. He specializes in full door replacements and custom Amarr carriage-house installs in the Proctor and Stadium District neighborhoods, where the older garages often have non-standard rough openings that need creative header work. Derek is the reason we keep a full inventory of 2-inch and 3-inch track on the truck, because he’s seen too many jobs stall waiting for parts. His human detail: he breeds show rabbits. Seriously. His Holland Lops have more documentation than some contractors I’ve met.
Sarah K., Service Coordinator
Sarah answers the phones you call at 2 a.m. when your door won’t close and you’re wondering if someone actually picks up. She does. She’s been with us since 2021 and knows which technician carries which parts, who’s closest to Fircrest versus Browns Point, and whether your Chamberlain Whisper Drive issue sounds like a stripped trolley carriage or a fried limit switch before she dispatches anyone. Sarah schedules every job with a named technician and sends the on-the-way text herself. She also enforces our photo record system, reviewing every technician’s upload before the invoice closes. Outside work, she coaches youth softball in South Tacoma and has a gift for explaining torsion spring physics to panicked homeowners without making them feel foolish.
Javier M., Apprentice Technician
Javier came to us in 2023 through a trade program at Bates Technical College, and he’s already handled more Wayne Dalton TorqueMaster conversions than most techs with five years in the field. That’s because Derek threw him into the deep end early, and he didn’t sink. Javier’s specialty is opener diagnostics, particularly Genie screw-drive units and the newer LiftMaster myQ systems that seem to confuse both the app and the homeowner. He’s methodical, which means his calls run ten minutes longer and his callbacks are near zero. His side gig is competitive barbecue, and he’ll tell you that smoking a brisket for fourteen hours taught him more about patience than any service manual.
One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works to the same documented rules, whether we’re swapping a cable drum in Tacoma’s West End or installing a full Raynor system across the Narrows Bridge. The Haven Standard travels with us: Clause 1 means your written price and scope arrive before work starts, no exceptions. Clause 4 is why the technician photographs the failed part before quoting a replacement. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every technician’s work, and the photo record you receive traces back to the founding rule Marcus established in 2015. We’re independently owned and operated here in Tacoma, not a franchise, and we hold our own license and insurance. Haven contributes the documentation system and the standard we agree to work to. When you call (253) 666-6264, you reach Sarah or another live person, 24/7, with a named technician and an on-the-way text. No callback window. No pricing games. Just the part named, the price written, and the job documented.
